6/10 - suicidally depressing DOOM 10 Tracks - 76: 29 |
|
At the end of your rope? No hope in sight and nothing left to live for? Welcome to the dreary world of Pantheist. Formed in 200 as a one man project, Amartia is the second full length from these purveyors of extreme doom. And dont let the first track fool you, because this shit gets heavy, and not in ways you'd expect. Desolate, smothering, hopeless. With a few awkward cleaner vocal parts, Pantheist bring to mind a more depresses My Dying Bride, and for those of you who remember them, Disembowelment. There's nop other way to describe this disc, but as the sound track to your own spiral into dispair and depression. Barely breaking more than a snails pace tempo wise, Amartia has you pondering whether or not you want to still exist. Only once do they pick up the pace, and only a bit, as if to remind you that there is no hope, so get as angry as you want. You wont win. Fans of My
Dying Bride, Novembers Doom and just Doom in general will enjoy Pantheist,
and they are a force to be reckoned with, as good dooom like this is hard
to come by. |
