Threatening Force

7/10: Break out the keg!

6 Tracks; 25:13 Basement Metal

Toronto's loudest and proudest are back with an EP that will whet the beer whistle of us all! Three new songs (well, four with the drum-roll intro) giving us a taste of what is to come, Decay, Wars, and Steel Rider wave the metal flag and don't care if you think they might be cheesy. They rock, and that's enough for me. Right Heavy Metal is the new metal credo for the ages. Threatening Force is a heavy, kickass opener, and Rise into the Night is an unabashed Ozzy/Rhodes homage, riffs and all. It also includes (reworked?) Fate Strikes and The Last Force that appeared on the band's last offering, Storming the Gates.

They know they aren't breaking new ground, and they don't care. Goat Horn is all about the love of heavy metal, and think about it. That's all that really counts, right? Long live Goat Horn. May the horns be forever thrown and the beer forever flowing!
