Eclipse Eternal

Reign Of The Unholy Blackened Empire

Galy Records

10/10 - A masterpiece of epic music!

11 Tracks; 63:46; Epic Black Metal

From the first moment I heard that Eclipse Eternal was releasing a full-length I was looking forward to it. I really enjoyed their demo, and I was expecting great things from ''Reign Of The Unholy Blackened Empire''. I can't really compare this to any other bands, because this is really unique. Also, I don't really know many bands in Black Metal.

With that said, this is easily my favourite Black Metal album, and rightly so. The music is incredible. The musicianship is extremely good, and the vocals as well. Voldamares delivers an insane performance, as does the whole band. The production is top notch, as you would expect with the album being produced by Glen Drover, and mixed by Andy LaRocque. Glen Drover also makes an appearance on the album, doing two solos in ''Awaken Ye Lords Of The Dark''.

The lyrics are intelligent, and thankfully don't go into the typical blatant satanism, or a corny fantasy theme. Lyrically, the theme fluctuates, but is mostly about satanic, or misanthropic. This is done in an intelligent way, and doesn't come across as corny at all.
The whole album is stellar, and there are so many good tracks, that I can't really pick a favourite. If I had to choose, I'd pick "Infested With The Human Disease", "Storming The Pearly Gates", and the nearly nine minute epic, "Sacrifice Love To The God's Of Hate".
This band completely blows me away, and I highly suggest buying this. A candidate for album of the year, definitely.
