9.5/10 - Recent black metal albums pale in comparison.
9 Tracks, 45:00 - Black metal
Originally recorded in 1998, this much sought-
after album has once again been brought to
the light of day in a truly respectable format.
There's no bonus tracks, no demo versions, nothing
but the original album re-released in a remastered
format.
Listening to this album, I find no excuses for
some of the absolute shite that has been passed
off as black metal of late, where bands who
have lost the passion for truly dark music
have turned instead into a parody of themselves,
to the point where Cradle of Filth begins to
look like a black metal band.
