*** The Musician Advice Section - Music Sites ***

Places to be heard and to get feedback

There are hundreds of these sites out there - places like
Supernova.com, garageband.com and countless others,
where people can go to listen to independant music, that
they are unlikely to hear anywhere else. Ever since the fall
of mp3.com artists have either had to put mp3s on their
own websites or sign up with one of these other services.

Either way, you should always have some way for people
who stumble across your website to listen to your music -
the advantage of the latter is that you'll also hit people who
haven't run across your website, and there's the opportunity
to get some feedback on your music from someone a bit more
critical than a fan. This latter part is especially important before
you release an album - get someone fairly impartial to listen to
the music and give you honest feedback on it - it's better to get
a "this would be a lot better if you tried this" before you drop a
load of cash to press the album, because then you can try that
and see if it actually does sound better.

Some examples of sites that people can listen to your music
include Supernova.com, and garageband.com - if you know of
any more, let me know and I'll share them here.
